I retired from Cairo School District after serving 34 years as a teacher and administrator. I am a lifelong resident of Cairo and extremely proud and happy to live here. I have three(3) children and ten (10) grandchildren, whom I adore. Family is everything! I am a member of First Missionary Baptist Church, 2115 Washington Ave. I serve on the Mother’s Ministry, Financial Officer, Trustee Board, and Chair of the Culinary Ministry. I am a Life Member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, Epsilon Lambda Omega Chapter, where I have served in various positions including: President, Vice President, Treasurer, and currently as Membership Chair. Every dollar that we raise is given back to the community because, the Sorority’s main focus is service to all mankind. I am an active member of the Cairo Heritage Foundation, where we organize and put on many exciting events to uplift the community and the surrounding areas. I am a former six (6) year Councilman At Large (Mayor Pro Tem) of the Cairo City Council. I am a supporter and volunteer with the Cairo Historical Preservation Project, Inc. This Project is working to rebuild and restore historical sites in Cairo. I believe in Cairo and have worked in many areas that would benefit the entire community.
